The Indian Orthodox Congregation in Manchester had its humble beginning in April 2004 with localized Prayer Meetings held at the residences of various Orthodox families under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Happy Jacob. The first Holy Qurbana was celebrated in November 2004 at the St. Elizabeth's RC Church, Peel Hall. In was on 25th December 2006, during his episcopal visit that the then Diocesan Metropolitan Dr. Thomas Mar Makarios Thirumeni formally declared the congregation as a Parish appointing Rev. Fr. Happy Jacob as the first Vicar. Holy Qurbana is celebrated every Sunday at 9am
