Vienna St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church

Austria, Europe

The St. Thomas Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Congregation in Vienna was founded with the blessings of the late lamented Dr. Paulose Mar Gregorios. Its inception could be traced back to the early 1980s. The Congregation is indeed indebted to the sincere efforts of Rev. Fr. Dr. M. O. John (then Dn. MO John) who persevered along with other members in the region to gather the faithful together. It was Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Kurian who celebrated the first Holy Qurbana in Vienna on 20th March 1983.

Presently, the Congregation, which remains a strong refuge for the faithful in the region comprise of around 20 families. Holy Qurbana is celebrated every Sunday. The Congregation is ever indebted to the Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna for all the facilities and conveniences rendered.
