Parish
Ludwigshafen St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Congregation (Ludwigshafen–Mannheim–Heidelberg)
Germany, Europe
The roots of the Indian Orthodox congregation in Ludwigshafen, Germany, trace back to 1991, when a small yet deeply committed community of faithful first gathered in November to celebrate the feast of Parumala Mar Gregorios. Shaped by years of prayer and faithfulness to tradition, the congregation was formally recognised on 6 September 2025, during the Feast of St. Mary, as an independent parish under the name St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Congregation, Ludwigshafen–Mannheim–Heidelberg by the Diocesan Metropolitan, H.G. Abraham Mar Stephanos, who also appointed Rev. Fr. Blessen George Babu as the Vicar of the parish.
Today, the parish gathers once every month to celebrate the Holy Liturgy, continuing its mission as a living witness to the Orthodox faith—rooted in tradition, strengthened by fellowship, and guided by the grace of God.
