International Student/Working Youth Members Hospitality Program [OASSIS platform]
“Connecting our youths to the church and our church to the youths”
We extend a warm greeting to international Malankara Orthodox students arriving to study in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Africa!
We understand that pursuing education abroad can be an exciting yet challenging experience, especially when it comes to navigating a new culture whilst maintaining your faith. That's why we are here to support you throughout the duration of your course and beyond.
Whether you are starting your academic journey or are already immersed in your studies or migrating for new work pastures, we want to ensure that you feel connected, supported, and empowered to thrive spiritually.
If you are planning to come into our diocese, please do fill in this short form with your details.
The details will be shared with your nearest Vicar and OCYM representative.
We offer a range of resources and initiatives tailored specifically to the cultural, religious, and practical needs of migrating youth like you.
Here are some of the ways OCYM can support you during your time abroad:
We recognise the importance of nurturing your faith while studying in a foreign country. OCYM provides spiritual guidance, Bible study groups, prayer meetings, and worship services to help you deepen your relationship with God and find a community of like-minded believers.
Adjusting to a new culture can be overwhelming. OCYM aims to organise cultural exchange events, workshops, and outings to help you connect with local students, experience the diversity of your host country, and build lasting friendships.
Mentoring and Counselling
We have connections to experienced mentors and counsellors who are available to provide support, guidance, and advice whenever you need it. Whether you're facing academic challenges, personal struggles, or simply need someone to talk to, we are here to listen and offer guidance based on Christian principles.
From navigating administrative processes to finding accommodation, we understand the practical challenges international students often face. OCYM can provide information, resources, and guidance to ensure your transition is as smooth as possible.
We believe that a balanced university experience includes not only academics but also a vibrant social life. OCYM organises social gatherings, outings, and recreational activities, allowing you to connect with other students, have fun, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
At OCYM, we encourage and facilitate opportunities for you to give back to the community. Through volunteering, you can make a positive impact, contribute to local causes, and share the love of Christ with those around you.
Feel free to reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have. We are excited to journey alongside you and make your time abroad a spiritually enriching and transformative experience.
Once again, welcome to the OCYM family! May your studies be fruitful, your faith grows stronger, and your time in the United Kingdom, Europe, or Africa be filled with blessings and grace.
