Premarital Counselling Programme
Annual Report 2024-2025 Annexure 8
By the grace of God, the Pre-Marital Counselling Program for members of the Diocese was conducted successfully during the April 2024 to March 2025 period. This program has proven to be a valuable resource, especially for young people preparing to enter into family life, offering them the spiritual foundation and practical guidance needed for a Christ-centred marriage.
The program was conducted three times in the year as one-day online sessions held on:
· 22 June 2024
· 26 October 2024
· 15 February2025
This allowed young people from various locations to participate with ease. The sessions saw the involvement of approximately 130 participants, reflecting strong interest and engagement from our community.
Each session was led by a team of dedicated and experienced instructors, including Dr Sen Kallumpuram, Dr. Merina Rajen, Dr Remin Mathews and Dr Elizabeth Joy. Additionally, Fr Anoop M Abraham, Fr Nitin Prasad Koshy, Fr Happy Jacob and Fr Rohith Skariah Georgy led sessions on the Biblical understanding of marriage and the Holy Sacrament, offering valuable theological insights to the participants. Each program concluded with a prayer and blessing from H.E. Abraham Mar Stephanos, our Diocesan Bishop, who also shared meaningful words of advice for those entering the premarital program.
We are also pleased to share that preparations are in progress to launch a Family Counselling Program aimed at married young people, continuing our mission to support families throughout all stages of life.
We express our deep appreciation to H.E. Abraham Mar Stephanos for his constant encouragement, spiritual leadership, and hands-on involvement in the success of this initiative. I also thank Fr Varghese T Mathew (Diocesan Secretary), Mr. Saji Varghese (Office secretary), Mr. Mathew Oommen (Program Assistant) for their valuable assistance and support in coordinating the program.
With God’s continued guidance, we look forward to building on this year’s progress and reaching even more young people in the years to come.
