Diocesan Council
Diocese of UK-Europe and Africa - Administration
As is the regulations laid out in the Church Constitution, every Diocese of the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Syrian Church has a Diocesan Council presided by the Diocesan Metropolitan.
The Diocesan Council consists of two priests and proportionately representative laymen who are elected by the Diocesan Assembly, along with the Diocesan Secretary. The term of their office is five years. The Diocesan Secretary, who also functions as the secretary of the Diocesan Assembly, is also the secretary to the Diocesan Council. The Diocesan Metropolitan convenes the Council and presides over the council meeting.
The current Diocesan Council has been elected for the 2023-2028 term at the Annual General Body meeting held at Liverpool St Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, UK on 29 May 2023. The following members were elected to the Diocesan Council:
