MAZMURO School of Liturgical Music
Affiliated to Sruti School of Liturgical Music, Kottayam
As part of the initiative of the Diocese of UK-Europe and Africa to equip its faithful in Liturgical training, particularly catering to the continued spiritual growth of the Malankara Orthodox faithful who have migrated and continue to migrate from India and abroad, the MAZMURO School of Liturgical Music is proud to launch its new courses in Liturgical Music. Affiliated with the Sruti School of Liturgical Music, Kottayam, this initiative is designed to foster a systematic and structured enhancement of the liturgical and devotional music traditions of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The Mazmuro School of Liturgical Music was publicly inaugurated by Malankara Metropolitan and Catholicos HH Baselios Marthoma Mathews III on 25 May 2024.
The programme aims to:
Ø Offer structured and systematic training to deepen understanding of the Church’s liturgical and devotional music traditions.
Ø Focus on the development of choir leadership skills, empowering choir leaders and members to organise and lead choirs in their respective parishes effectively.
Ø Promote uniformity and standardisation in hymnody, preserving the rich musical heritage of the Orthodox Church.
This programme is ideal for:
Ø choir leaders
Ø choir members and
Ø anyone passionate about elevating the musical liturgy in their Parishes.
Programme Outline:
· Course duration - 12 months commencing January 2025 in two batches consisting of fifteen students each.
· Inaugural Session - 28 January 2025
· Classes - To be held online bi-weekly (Tuesday and Thursday) from 8PM to 9PM (GMT).
· Estimated course commitment is 40 hours.

Eligibility of Admission:
· Applicants must be aged 16 or over
· Should be recommended by the Parish Vicar/ Priest in Charge.
Registration Process:
Registration is done by completing the required Application forms as and when advertised through the official Diocesan portals. Registration will be offered to 30 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email with further instructions regarding enrolment.

Fee Structure:
£150 GBP for the entire course (One Year Programme), when paid upfront before commencement of the programme
OR
£175 GBP paid as installments (February 2025 - £50, March 2025 - £50, April 2025 - £50, May 2025 - £25)
Course Completion:
A formal certification affiliated with Sruti School of Liturgical Music will be issued following the successful completion of the course.
